Meet Candice Gilmer

Finding the happily ever afters in all her books come from finding all the fun in her everyday.

About

USA Today and NY Times bestselling author Candice Gilmer leads a dangerous double life as a mommy and a writer. In between child-taxi work and answering the ever-dreaded question “What’s for dinner,” she writes all the romance.

Her books range from vampires and werewolves to mermaids and fairies to contemporary and fairy tale romances--a huge variety, just like her broad, geek-girl heart. She adores Star Wars, Star Trek, Marvel, and DC, (you CAN love them all), and her hero will always be Captain America.

All in all, she stays very busy, but really, she wouldn't have it any other way.

Well, maybe hire a chef.

  • 2020

I finished the Vampire Mythicals series, and then I was ready to try something different.

Stepped into a new genre for me, sci-fi romance, by writing The Temptress's Cyborg

  • 2021

In the midst of COVID, I released more books than I ever had in a single year -- 9. Can't Remember Dick, The Galactic Storm series: Temptress's Cyborg, Lady's Cyborg, Mistress's Cyborg, Virgin's Cyborg and Princess's Cyborg. Then I released my first 3 Intergalactic Dating Agency books, Slammer, Hard Time, and Solitary.

    That was a big year.

  • 2022

Spent a lot of this year recovering. Released Alien Need. I attempted to repeat my success with the cyborg series, but I just wasn't able to keep up with the writing after the difficulties the previous year.

Instead, I took my second dip into the Intergalactic Dating Agency pool, but was only able to release 2 of my scheduled 3, Core and Shaft.

  • 2023

Not a great year for me. Had a lot of issues with writing and focus and finding my passion. Spent a lot of time working on my mental health.

However, I did teach my first writing classes at Romancelahoma, in Oklahoma City, OK, and the classes were very well recieved.

Focused on moving to a Shopify store, and doing a lot of admin things I've been neglecting. (Procrastinating. We can say it together...)

I did, with the help of a great friend, manage to get Claim, the third of the IDA done and released.

  • 2024

More of a study and self discovery year. I did a lot of book recovering and updating.

I was in a couple of anthologies, including Beyond Earth, where I released Cyborg Unclaimed.

I did release Savior, a new Intergalactic Dating Agency book.

And I can Teach!

With all this experience, I've taught several classes as well, and I'm available to teach or be on panels at events on many writing topics.

Some classes I've taught:

  • Writing To Market
  • Cover Art To Market
  • World Building Doesn't Have To Be Hard
  • Branding with Canva and BookBrush
