In an impossible position, Olmed is expected to find himself a mate or get out of the Mining Guild forever. He’d already screwed up once. He can’t screw it up again.

He agrees to go to the Intergalactic Dating Agency’s newest offices and let them find him the perfect mate. 

Hopefully, there was an escape clause because Olmed may have to make some decisions that could affect him, as well as a lot of others. He’s prepared to do just that.

At least until the feisty Terran girl shows up, claiming to be his mate. At least, that’s what the IDA says.

She, on the other hand, has a far different opinion of Olmed than that. Like he could go jump off a cliff.

Tori wasn’t doing this. Whatever this was, nope, she wasn’t about it. The park wasn’t her idea. She was just going to dump her ex and move on. Get off his radar.

Then Jana disappeared in a flash of light.

Without thinking, Tori and Polly run after her, thinking it was some optical illusion. Now she’s on the other side of the galaxy with this giant, red-horned mate who looks like something out of a movie, and she’s supposed to mate with him?

She’d rather smash his face in.

Left with no other option, she must go through the motions for her thirty days. Try and find something redeemable about his grumpy butt.

And then it gets worse.

A lot worse.

Can they handle it?

Or will it tear them, as well as everyone else, apart?

"So, wait. These are our mates.” Tori gestured toward the aliens that stood across the room from them. A purple male with bones sticking out of his shoulder, a green guy with scales and a tail, and a red male with horns. All were, by her estimate, seven feet tall, and sturdy built. They all looked like they could crush her in a hug.

Not exactly what she expected.

She had a hard time taking her eyes off the red one.

Olmed.

His general displeasure of the whole situation resonated with her.

Or maybe that was her own feelings, and she was just projecting.

Regardless. He had a strong vibe that drew her attention. She might have been intrigued if they were on her planet.

Maybe.

The whole thing was too wild to believe. Yet here she was, with her new alleged mate. “These non-humans are our mates."

Re-lee raised her eyebrow. "Humanoid. All two-legged bipedals are humanoid. Males are males, females are females, and gender-fluid are whom they present as. But all are humanoid."

"Sorry. This is my first alien abduction."

Re-lee sighed. "This is not an abduction."

"If you don't want to be here, go home," the red one said.

“Maybe I will,” she said.

Polly put her hand on Tori’s shoulder. “Listen, we need to figure this out. Don’t get all carried away yet, okay?”

Tori jerked out of her touch. “I’ll do what I want.”

The red one snorted and shook his head. He muttered something about this being stupid, and frankly, that was one thing that Tori agreed with him about.

This was stupid.

Weird.

Crazy.

And generally impossible to believe.

“It blows my mind that walking through a metal archway in a park beamed me here so I could mate with this alien,” Tori said. “From my perspective, it feels like an abduction.”

She didn’t really want to be halfway around the galaxy. She was just thinking about moving across the country to get a little space and re-center. She probably would have chalked this up to being a crazy dream, but she saw what she saw.

So she didn’t doubt the authenticity of it.

The sanity?

That was a whole other thing.

Olmed seemed so annoyed and unhappy to be there.
